Title IX AAAC Charge
The Title IX AAAC is charged to serve as an oversight and review body, with responsibility for ensuring that the University’s Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA) program is in compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. Specifically, the committee is tasked with the following:
- Developing a regular Title IX compliance review process, which includes review and analysis of key documents such as the ICA Gender Equity Strategic Plan, the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act submission, student surveys, and NCAA reports;
- Monitoring Title IX compliance and the culture within ICA related to Title IX issues;
- Obtaining feedback from campus constituents related to Title IX compliance in ICA, including student athletes and coaches and the Academic Senate Athletics Advisory Committee;
- Reviewing ICA policies for Title IX compliance implications; and
- Proposing and implementing a Title IX education program for coaches and other ICA staff as well as student athletes.
